Your Five-Step Setup at a Glance
Welcome to Wedy Pro — your new command center for running a standout event business. This checklist walks you through five essential setup steps so you can start booking clients and getting paid as quickly as possible.
Wedy Pro is built with AI woven into the experience from day one — intelligent suggestions during onboarding, AI-assisted document creation, and an AI-powered Automations builder that turns plain-language descriptions into real workflows.
Most vendors complete the full checklist in 30 to 60 minutes. No need to finish in one sitting — your progress is saved automatically, and the onboarding checklist on your dashboard tracks exactly where you left off.
How to use the onboarding checklist
When you first log into Wedy Pro, your dashboard displays an onboarding widget that tracks your setup progress. The widget shows five steps with a counter (for example, 1/5 steps completed), and each step links directly to the setup flow it represents.
As you complete each step, the checklist updates in real time. The current step is highlighted so you always know what to do next. Once all five steps are done, the onboarding widget disappears, and your dashboard transitions to your regular business view with stats cards, lead counts, and earnings.
Step 1: Complete your profile
Your vendor profile is the foundation of your presence on Wedy Pro and the Wedy App marketplace. This is what potential clients see when they browse vendors in your area, so investing a few minutes here pays dividends in first impressions.
To complete your profile, Wedy Pro guides you through five screens:
Basic Information — Upload your avatar (profile picture), enter your Business Name, write an About Your Business description (minimum 50 characters), set your City using the location search, and add your Phone Number.
Business Category — Select your category from the visual grid: photographer, videographer, planner, florist, DJ, caterer, venue, hair and makeup artist, officiant, and more.
External Links — Add your Website, Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest profiles. These are optional but highly recommended — clients want to see your work beyond your Wedy listing.
Portfolio — Upload 5 to 20 photos that showcase your best work. Drag to reorder, and right-click any photo to set it as your cover image, delete it, or rearrange.
FAQs — Add question-and-answer pairs that address the most common things clients ask you. Think pricing ranges, travel policies, booking timelines, and what is included in your services. When you finish this screen, click Complete Onboarding to finalize your profile.
When you finish the fifth screen, you will land on a review page confirming your profile is complete. From there, click View Profile to see exactly what clients see on the Wedy App, or click Go to Packages to move to Step 2.
For a detailed walkthrough of every field and best practices for making your profile stand out, see Complete Your Vendor Profile.
Step 2: Create at least one package
Packages are the service offerings that appear on your marketplace listing. Each package defines what you offer, what it costs, and what clients can expect — making it easy for potential clients to compare your services and request a booking directly from the Wedy App.
To create your first package:
From the review page after completing your profile, click Go to Packages. You can also navigate to Packages under the Marketplace section of your sidebar at any time.
Select New Package (or choose an existing service to build from).
Upload a cover photo and enter the package title, base cost, duration, and any additional costs.
Add service details and customizations that describe exactly what is included.
Review your package and click Publish to make it live on the marketplace.
Published packages appear on your Wedy App vendor profile immediately. Clients browsing vendors in your category and area can view your packages, compare them, and submit a booking request — which lands directly in your Wedy Pro dashboard as a new Booking.
For a complete guide on creating packages with pricing strategies and tips for event vendors, see Create Your First Package.
Step 3: Connect your email account
Connecting your email lets you send and receive client communication directly within Wedy Pro, using your own email address. No more switching between tabs or losing track of conversations.
Navigate to Account in the sidebar, then select Integrations.
Click Connect Email.
An authorization window opens. Sign in with your Gmail, Outlook, or other email provider and grant Wedy Pro permission to send and receive on your behalf.
Once connected, your email address and provider icon appear on the Integrations page, confirming the connection is active.
With email connected, Wedy Pro handles two things for you automatically:
Outgoing emails sent from Wedy Pro come from your connected email address, so clients see your real business email — not a generic platform address.
Incoming emails from clients are auto-imported into the relevant project timeline, so every conversation lives alongside the contracts, invoices, and tasks for that client.
For provider-specific instructions and troubleshooting, see Connect Your Email.
Step 4: Enable Payments
Wedy Pro includes built-in payment processing. When you connect your bank account, clients can pay your invoices by credit card or bank transfer, and payouts go directly to your bank account.
Navigate to Payments in the sidebar.
Click Connect Bank Account.
Wedy Pro opens an embedded payment setup form.
Complete the form with your business details, identity verification, and bank account information for payouts.
Submit and wait for verification. Verification typically completes within a few minutes, though it can take up to 24 hours in some cases.
Note: You must complete your vendor profile (Step 1) before you can set up payments. If your profile is incomplete, the Payments page will prompt you to finish it first.
Once connected, you can accept payments through any invoice or contract you send from within a project. Processing fees apply: 2.9% + $0.30 per credit card transaction, or 0.8% capped at $5 per bank transfer. For the full setup guide including fee details and payout schedules, see Set Up Payments on Wedy Pro.
Step 5: Get Verified
The final step in your onboarding checklist is account verification through Wedy's Vendor Collective program. The Vendor Collective team reviews your application — this is how you signal to prospective clients that you are a legitimate, vetted event professional.
Here is what to expect from the verification process:
Complete your profile first. Verification requires a fully completed vendor profile (Step 1), including your business name, category, portfolio photos, and contact information.
Provide any requested business information. The Vendor Collective team may ask for details that verify your identity and active work in the events industry.
Meet quality standards. The Vendor Collective team reviews your profile, portfolio, and business information to ensure they meet the marketplace's quality bar. A strong portfolio with at least 5 high-quality images and a detailed description improves your chances of swift approval.
Wait for review. Verification is typically processed within a few business days. You will receive a notification in Wedy Pro once your status is confirmed.
Once verified, a verified badge appears next to your business name on your Wedy App marketplace profile — visible in search results, on your profile page, and alongside your packages.
Connect your calendar (recommended)
While not part of the five-step onboarding checklist, connecting your calendar is one of the most valuable integrations you can set up early. It keeps your event dates, client meetings, and personal commitments visible in one place — and prevents double-bookings.
Navigate to Account > Integrations, or click the Set Calendar button in your dashboard header for a shortcut.
Click Connect Calendar.
Authorize Wedy Pro by signing in with your Google or Outlook calendar account.
Calendar events sync bidirectionally — events you create in Wedy Pro appear on your external calendar, and your external calendar events appear in Wedy Pro.
For a complete walkthrough including sync preferences and troubleshooting, see Connect Your Calendar.
What to do after your checklist is complete
With all five onboarding steps finished and your integrations connected, your Wedy Pro account is fully operational. Here is what to explore next:
Create your first project — Add a client, set an event date, and explore the project dashboard where you manage documents, payments, tasks, and communication. See Create Your First Project.
Send your first document — Draft a contract, invoice, or proposal and send it to a client directly from within a project. See Send Your First Document.
Explore Automations — Build workflows that automate your follow-ups, reminders, and booking process. The Automations builder includes an AI mode that generates workflows from a plain-language description. See Automate Your Workflow with Automations.
Add more packages — Most successful vendors offer multiple packages (for example, a wedding photography package, an elopement package, and an engagement session package). The more options you list, the easier it is for clients to find the right fit.
Tips for getting the most out of your setup
Complete your profile first. Several features — including payments — require a finished profile before they unlock.
Upload your strongest portfolio work. Your portfolio photos are the single biggest factor in whether a client clicks through to learn more. Lead with your best 5 to 10 images.
Write FAQs from your client conversations. Think about the questions you answer most often — pricing, availability, travel, turnaround time.
Connect email and calendar early. The sooner these integrations are active, the sooner Wedy Pro becomes your single source of truth for client communication and scheduling.
