Set Package Pricing, Add-Ons, and Guest Ranges

Learn how to set your base price, add optional add-ons, and define guest ranges for your Wedy Pro packages. Covers pricing tips and processing fees.

Overview

Your package pricing is what clients see first when browsing Wedy App — it needs to be clear, transparent, and complete. Wedy is built on a philosophy of full price transparency: the base price you set is the true total cost of your service, not a "starting at" figure. This builds trust with clients and reduces back-and-forth before a booking.

Beyond the base price, you can offer optional add-ons that let clients customize what they receive, and you can define a guest range so Wedy App surfaces your package to clients whose event size you can accommodate.

Time to complete: 5–10 minutes per package.

How to set your base price

The base price is set in Step 1 of the package creation wizard, and can be updated at any time from the package detail view.

  1. Navigate to Packages in the sidebar (under the Marketplace section).

  2. Click any existing package card to open the package detail view, then click Base Price in the left sidebar. (Or, if creating a new package, click Create Package and fill in the base price during Step 1.)

  3. Enter your price in the large numeric field prefixed with $. The minimum is $50.

  4. Click Save.

Wedy emphasizes that this price should represent the full, true cost of your service — not a floor. Clients on Wedy App see this as the complete package price, which eliminates confusion and builds confidence before they submit a booking request.

How to add included services and add-ons

The Service Details section is where you define what the package covers and what clients can optionally add on. It has two subsections: What's Included and Add-Ons.

  1. From the package detail view, click Service Details in the left sidebar.

  2. Under What's Included, click Add Included Service to add a service item that is always part of the package (e.g., "8 hours of coverage", "50 edited photos delivered within 3 weeks").

  3. In the service form, enter a title, an optional delivery date (e.g., "at the event" or "within 2 weeks"), and leave the cost at zero — included services are part of the base price.

  4. Under Add-Ons, click Add Optional Service to add an item clients can choose to purchase on top of the base package (e.g., "Additional hour of coverage — $200", "Rush delivery — $150").

  5. For each optional service, enter a title, an optional due date, and a cost. This cost is what clients pay on top of the base price if they select that add-on.

  6. Click Save when finished.

You can reorder both included services and add-ons by dragging items up or down. At least one included service is required for a package to be complete.

Note: If your package already has active bookings, the Service Details section is locked and cannot be edited. This protects clients who have already booked from unexpected scope changes. To update service details, you'll need to create a new package.

How to set a guest range

The guest range tells clients — and Wedy App's search filters — how many guests your package can accommodate. A florist offering intimate arrangements for up to 50 guests should set a different range than a caterer who serves 200 or more.

  1. From the package detail view, click Guest Range in the left sidebar.

  2. Enter the minimum number of guests (the smallest event size you'll accept for this package).

  3. Enter the maximum number of guests (the largest event size this package is designed for).

  4. Click Save.

Setting an accurate guest range improves how your package appears in Wedy App search results. Clients often filter by guest count, so a well-defined range helps your package surface to the right prospects and prevents inquiries from clients whose events are outside your capacity.

How to add duration and extra-hour pricing

The Duration + Extra Hours section lets you set your standard service duration and optionally offer extended time at an additional rate.

  1. From the package detail view, click Duration + Extra Hours in the left sidebar (shown as Duration & Timing during initial creation in Step 1).

  2. Enter the base duration in hours — this is the standard length of your service (e.g., 8 for an 8-hour photography package).

  3. If you offer additional hours for an extra fee, enter the hourly rate in the additional hour rate field. If you do not offer extra hours, leave this field empty or enter 0.

  4. Click Save.

Understanding processing fees

When clients pay through Wedy App, standard payment processing fees apply. Factor these into your pricing strategy so your take-home matches your target: 2.9% + $0.30 per credit card transaction, or 0.8% capped at $5 per bank transfer. Encouraging clients to pay via bank transfer is the most cost-effective option for higher-value bookings.

Pricing tips for event vendors

  • Price for your full value — Wedy packages represent your complete service offering. Build in your time, materials, travel, and editing/production into the base price. Undercutting your actual cost leads to undersell, not more bookings.

  • Use add-ons for flexibility, not discounts — Add-ons let clients customize upward (more coverage, rush delivery, extra prints). They should never be used to obscure a low base price with required upsells.

  • Match your guest range to your actual capacity — Be honest about minimums. If you require a minimum of 50 guests to make a wedding financially viable, set that as your minimum. A mismatched inquiry wastes both your time and the client's.

  • Factor in extra-hour risk — If events routinely run long, build a realistic additional-hour rate that covers overtime without penalizing the client unexpectedly.

  • Review pricing periodically — Update your packages at least annually to account for cost increases, new service offerings, and market positioning changes.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change my base price after a client has booked?

Yes — the base price field is always editable regardless of booking status. However, price changes only apply to new bookings. Clients who have already booked at the original price are not affected.

What happens if a client selects an add-on when booking?

Clients can choose from your available add-ons when submitting their booking request on Wedy App. The add-ons they select are reflected in the total cost of their booking, and the selected add-ons appear in your Bookings view when you review the incoming request.

Is there a limit to how many add-ons I can create?

The feature analysis does not specify a hard limit. In practice, keep your add-ons focused — a short, clear list converts better than an overwhelming menu of options.

Can I offer a discount or a promotional price?

Wedy Pro does not currently support discount codes or promotional pricing within the package setup. If you want to offer a promotional rate, update the base price directly on the package, or create a separate package for the promotional period.

Do add-on prices include processing fees?

Yes — the same processing fees apply to the total booking amount, including any add-ons. A booking of $2,000 base + $200 add-on = $2,200 total, with fees calculated on that full amount.

What is the minimum base price?

The minimum base price is $50. Packages priced below this cannot be saved or listed on Wedy App.
