Overview
The Vendor Collective is Wedy's curated marketplace of hand-selected event professionals. Unlike open directories where anyone can list their services, Wedy personally vets and approves every vendor — ensuring that clients browsing the Wedy App marketplace find only trusted, high-quality professionals.
Getting verified through the Vendor Collective means your profile goes live on the Wedy App marketplace, making your services discoverable to potential clients. This guide walks you through the requirements and how to apply.
Time to complete: 5–10 minutes (after completing all prerequisites).
What is the Vendor Collective?
The Vendor Collective is Wedy's vendor verification program. Rather than operating an open marketplace where any vendor can appear, Wedy hand-selects professionals through a quality review process. This exclusivity benefits both sides:
For vendors — Verification means your profile is published on the Wedy App marketplace, helping you stand out and attract more bookings from clients who value vetted professionals.
For clients — Browsing the Wedy App marketplace, clients know that every vendor they see has been reviewed and approved by the Wedy team.
A wedding photographer in Dallas, for example, gains immediate credibility by appearing on the Wedy App marketplace — signaling that their portfolio, pricing, and professionalism have been reviewed and meet Wedy's standards.
Requirements before applying
Before you can apply for Vendor Collective verification, make sure you have completed these steps in your Wedy Pro account:
Complete your profile — Fill in all fields on the Business Info page, including your profile picture, business name, description, city, and phone number.
Upload portfolio photos — Add at least 5 photos to your Portfolio (maximum 20). Your portfolio is the first thing clients see on the marketplace, so showcase your best work across different events, styles, and venues.
Create at least one package — Publish a package that clients can book. Packages define your service offerings and pricing on the marketplace.
Connect your email account — Link your business email so you can communicate with clients directly from Wedy Pro through your own email address.
Connect your payment account — Set up payment processing so clients can pay deposits and invoices through your documents and bookings.
You can track your progress on these steps from the onboarding checklist that appears after completing your profile setup.
How to apply for Vendor Collective verification
Once you have met all the requirements above, follow these steps to start the verification process:
Click Profile in the sidebar under the Marketplace section.
On mobile, look for the Profile Status card on your profile overview. On desktop, the Profile Status card is not shown directly — navigate to your profile on a mobile device or contact the Vendor Collective team through the Wedy support chat to begin verification.
If your listing is currently Unlisted, the status card displays the message: "Your Wedy Pro Listing doesn't appear in search results. Start a chat with our Vendor Collective team to verify your account."
Click the Profile Status card to start a conversation with the Wedy Vendor Collective team.
The Wedy team will review your profile, portfolio, packages, and overall marketplace readiness.
What happens after you apply
After you reach out through the Profile Status card, the Wedy team reviews your account. Here is what to expect:
Review period — The Vendor Collective team evaluates your profile completeness, portfolio quality, package offerings, and overall business presence. This is a manual, hands-on review — not an automated process.
Approval — If your account meets Wedy's standards, your profile is approved and goes live on the Wedy App marketplace. Your listing status changes from Unlisted to Listed (shown with a green badge on your Profile Status card).
Not yet approved — If your profile needs improvement, the Vendor Collective team will guide you on what to update. You can make changes and resubmit for review.
Your Listed status and marketplace visibility
Once approved, several things happen across your Wedy Pro account:
Listed badge — Your Profile Status card displays a green Listed badge with the message: "Your Wedy Pro Listing has been published and appears in search results!"
Marketplace visibility — Your profile, portfolio photos, packages, and FAQs become visible to clients browsing the Wedy App marketplace. Clients can discover you through search results based on your business category and location.
Share your profile — A share button appears on your profile page, letting you copy your public Wedy App listing URL to share with potential clients on social media, your website, or in emails.
Receive bookings — Clients can browse your packages and submit booking requests directly through the marketplace.
Tips for a strong application
Showcase variety in your portfolio — Upload photos from different events, venues, and lighting conditions. A florist might include centerpieces, bridal bouquets, ceremony arches, and reception installations to demonstrate range.
Write a compelling business description — Your About Your Business section should clearly communicate your style, experience, and what makes you unique. Minimum 50 characters are required, but aim for a thorough description that helps clients understand your services.
Add your website and social media links — Social proof from your Instagram portfolio, Facebook reviews, and Pinterest boards builds additional credibility beyond your Wedy profile.
Set up FAQs — Answering common client questions proactively shows professionalism and reduces friction in the booking process.
Price your packages competitively — Clear, detailed package descriptions with transparent pricing help clients make confident booking decisions.
