Connect Wedy Pro to Claude or ChatGPT (AI Assistant Connection)

Connect your Wedy Pro account to Claude or ChatGPT so your AI assistant can read and manage your leads, projects, documents and more from a chat.

Overview

Wedy Pro can connect directly to the AI assistants you already use. Once connected, Claude or ChatGPT can read your leads, projects, calendar, payments and documents, and can create and edit leads, projects, tasks, lead forms, email templates, automations and Smart Documents on your behalf, all from a normal chat. You stay in control: the assistant works inside your own Wedy Pro account, under your own permissions, and asks before it changes anything.

This article shows you how to connect Wedy Pro to Claude and to ChatGPT, how to approve the connection, and how to use it in a conversation.

Time to complete: 5–10 minutes.

What you can do once connected

After you connect, ask your assistant in plain language. Here are the kinds of requests it can handle inside Wedy Pro:

  • Leads — List your leads, open a lead's details, add notes, create a new lead, or attach a lead to a project.

  • Projects — List projects by stage, read a project's details and notes, create a project, or update its dates, stage and tags.

  • Calendar — See your upcoming calendar events and check scheduler availability.

  • Payments — Review completed and overdue payments and your revenue chart.

  • Tasks — List your task board, create tasks and task columns, update tasks and add comments.

  • Documents — List and read your Smart Documents and templates, create a new document or template, add pages, edit invoice, contract and pay pages on drafts, and restyle a document with your brand theme.

  • Lead forms, email templates and automations — Create and update lead forms and email templates, and create, update or switch automations on and off.

  • Uploads — Browse your Uploads library and place your images into documents.

Try prompts like "Which leads came in this week and haven't been contacted?", "Create a task to send Emma her final invoice on Friday", or "Draft a proposal template for a full-day wedding using my brand colors."

Before you start

  • The AI assistant connection is available on the Elite plan. You can review or change your plan under Account > Membership.

  • Your Wedy Pro email address must be confirmed and your vendor profile set up. If either is missing, the connection screen will ask you to complete it first.

  • Each person connects their own assistant with their own Wedy Pro login. The assistant can only do what that person can do in Wedy Pro.

  • You will need the Wedy Pro server address. Copy it exactly: https://mcp.wedypro.ai/mcp

How to connect Wedy Pro to Claude

In Claude, Wedy Pro is added as a custom connector. This works in Claude on the web and in the Claude desktop app.

The Connectors page in Claude settings, under Customize, with the Add button in the top-right corner

  1. Open Claude and go to Customize > Connectors.

  2. Click + Add in the top-right corner, then click Add custom connector.

  3. In Name, type Wedy Pro. This is the name you'll see in your connectors list.

  4. In MCP server URL, paste https://mcp.wedypro.ai/mcp and click Continue.

  5. Claude checks the server and shows the authentication it detected. Leave the defaults in place: under Authentication keep Sign in now, and under OAuth client keep the default. You do not need any request headers. Click Add.

  6. A Wedy Pro page opens asking you to approve the connection. Follow the steps under Approve the connection in Wedy Pro below.

  7. When you return to Claude, Wedy Pro appears in your connectors list with a Custom label and a checkmark. You're connected.

If you're on a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector once under Organization settings > Connectors, and each member then clicks Connect next to Wedy Pro under Customize > Connectors to sign in with their own Wedy Pro account.

How to connect Wedy Pro to ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, custom connections are added from Developer mode in your settings. Developer mode is a beta feature; if you don't see it, your ChatGPT plan or workspace may not include it yet, or a workspace admin may need to enable it first.

  1. Open ChatGPT and go to Settings > Apps & Connectors.

  2. Open Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.

  3. Back on the Apps & Connectors page, click Create.

  4. In Name, type Wedy Pro. Add a short description if you like.

  5. In MCP server URL, paste https://mcp.wedypro.ai/mcp.

  6. Under Authentication, choose OAuth. Leave the client ID and secret fields empty; Wedy Pro handles this for you.

  7. Tick the box confirming you trust this application, then click Create.

  8. A Wedy Pro page opens asking you to approve the connection. Follow the steps under Approve the connection in Wedy Pro below.

  9. When you return to ChatGPT, Wedy Pro is listed under your connectors. You're connected.

Approve the connection in Wedy Pro

Whichever assistant you use, the approval happens on a Wedy Pro page so your password is never shared with the assistant. The page shows the assistant's logo next to the Wedy Pro logo so you can confirm who is asking.

  1. If you're not already signed in, the page says Sign in to connect Claude (or ChatGPT). Enter your Wedy Pro email and password and click Sign In.

  2. If you belong to more than one Wedy Pro account, a Select an account step appears. Choose the business you want the assistant to work in and click Continue.

  3. Review the wants to access your account screen. It tells you where you'll be sent after approving, which should be the assistant's own site.

  4. Click Allow. You're sent back to Claude or ChatGPT and the connection completes. Click Deny if you don't recognise the request.

How to use Wedy Pro in a chat

In Claude: start a new chat, click the + button at the lower-left of the message box, click Connectors, and make sure Wedy Pro is switched on. Then ask your question.

In ChatGPT: start a new chat, click the + button in the message box, choose More, then select Wedy Pro as a source for the conversation. Then ask your question.

A few things to know while you work:

  • It confirms before it changes anything. Before creating, updating or deleting something in Wedy Pro, the assistant tells you what will change and waits for your go-ahead. Both Claude and ChatGPT can also ask you to approve each tool call the first time it's used.

  • Sent documents stay safe. The assistant can fully edit draft documents. On a document that has already been sent, it won't touch invoice, contract, questionnaire or package pages, and any other edit it makes is saved as unpublished. Open the document in Wedy Pro and publish when you're happy with it; your client sees the old version until then.

  • Your brand comes along. When the assistant builds a document or lead form, it reads your brand theme first so the result matches the rest of your Wedy Pro account.

  • Images come from your Uploads. The assistant places copies of images from your Uploads library; it won't invent images or pull files from elsewhere.

How to disconnect

You can remove the connection at any time from the assistant's settings.

  • Claude: go to Customize > Connectors, click Wedy Pro, then click Disconnect. Use the ⋮ menu to remove the connector entirely.

  • ChatGPT: go to Settings > Apps & Connectors, open Wedy Pro, and disconnect or delete it.

Disconnecting stops the assistant from reaching your account immediately. Nothing already created in Wedy Pro is removed.

Tips

  • Be specific about who and what. "Update the stage on the Harper wedding to Booked" works better than "update the stage".

  • Ask the assistant to read first. "Show me the Harper proposal" before "change the retainer to 30%" gives it the right document and page to work on.

  • In Claude, you can limit which Wedy Pro tools are available under Customize > Connectors > Wedy Pro > Tool permissions. Set read-only tools to Always allow and keep editing tools on Needs approval if you'd like a confirmation each time.

  • Money and dates are read exactly as they are in Wedy Pro, so you can ask for totals, overdue balances and date ranges with confidence.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to connect my Wedy Pro account to an AI assistant?

Yes. The assistant never sees your Wedy Pro password; you sign in on a Wedy Pro page and approve the connection, and you can revoke it from the assistant's settings at any time. The assistant can only do what your own Wedy Pro login allows, and it asks before making changes.

I see "Your Wedy subscription does not include AI assistant access." What does that mean?

The AI assistant connection is part of the Elite plan. Go to Account > Membership in Wedy Pro to upgrade, then try your request again.

The approval page says "Email Not Confirmed" or "Profile Setup Required".

Sign in to Wedy Pro, confirm your email address or finish setting up your vendor profile, then start the connection again from Claude or ChatGPT.

Can my team members use it too?

Yes. Each team member connects their own assistant and signs in with their own Wedy Pro login. If they belong to more than one account, they choose which one to connect on the Select an account step.

Can the assistant send emails or documents to my clients?

Not on its own. The assistant can draft and prepare documents and email templates, and it tells you when a change still needs to be published. Sending to clients happens from Wedy Pro, where you can review everything first.

Why does the assistant say a change is "unpublished"?

Edits to a document that has already been sent are saved as a new unpublished version so your client isn't surprised by a half-finished change. Open the document in Wedy Pro and click publish when it's ready.

Does the connection expire?

The connection stays active until you disconnect it. If an assistant ever reports it can't reach Wedy Pro, open its connector settings and click Connect or Reconnect to sign in again.
